The Youth Sailing Dinner and Auction was a tremendous success. More than 75 BYC members and guests, as well as a few ‘Hale’s Pass Dash’ racers enjoyed Tri Tip steaks, cooked to perfection by Don Jorgensen, Caesar Salad by Katy Day and baked potatoes, custom washed and wrapped by Past Commodore Michele Bennett.

Better yet, the Youth Sailors themselves, supervised by Megan Link, Sailing Instructor, served and bussed tables and the service flowed like a Swiss watch.

Auction items, carefully displayed by Commodore Michele were eagerly bid upon, under the guidance and encouragement of Youth Fleet Captain Mike Powell, who’s table top photo books and Hi Res Prints of the34th America’s Cup were items of fierce competition, perhaps thanks to the efforts of volunteer bartenders Scott McInery and Terry Tavelli.

The goal of this endeavor was to raise money to fund the repair of the Youth Sailing Safety Boat…and we did! The BYC came together as a community, raising $6,500.00…in less than 3 hours.
